Maqam Analyzer ("we", "our", or "us") is a mobile and web application that identifies Arabic maqam scales, tonics, and musical structures from audio input. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Account Information: When you register, we collect your email address and a hashed password to create and manage your account. Audio Data: Audio captured via your microphone or uploaded files is processed entirely on-device in your browser. We do not transmit, store, or share any audio recordings. Usage Data: We may collect anonymized analytics data (e.g., which features are used) to improve the app. No personally identifiable information is attached to this data. Subscription Data: If you subscribe, payment is processed securely by our payment provider (Base44 Payments / Stripe). We do not store your card details.
We use your information to: • Provide and maintain the Maqam Analyzer service • Manage your account and subscription • Send transactional emails (e.g., verification codes, password resets) • Send marketing emails (new features, app updates, tips, special offers, and discounts) — by signing up or signing in, you agree to receive these emails. You can opt out at any time. • Improve app performance and features via anonymized analytics
All pitch detection and maqam classification happens locally in your browser or device. Microphone audio and uploaded audio files are never sent to our servers. We have no access to the content of any audio you analyze.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share data only with: • Service providers necessary to operate the app (e.g., authentication, payment processors) • Authorities if required by law All third-party providers are bound by strict data protection agreements.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time from the Account Settings page. Anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
We use browser local storage to maintain your session and remember app preferences (e.g., note display mode). We do not use third-party tracking cookies.
Maqam Analyzer is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and hashed password storage. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to: • Access the personal data we hold about you • Correct inaccurate data • Request deletion of your data • Object to or restrict certain processing To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy in the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
By signing up or signing in to Maqam Analyzer, you agree to opt in to receiving emails from us about new features, app updates, tips for identifying maqamat, and special offers and discounts. Your consent is recorded in our database with the date and time it was given. You understand that you can opt out at any time by toggling the Email Marketing option in your Account Settings, or by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Opting out will not affect transactional emails (e.g., verification codes, password resets) which are necessary for your account. We do not send marketing emails to users who have opted out.
If you purchase a subscription, your plan renews automatically until you cancel. You may cancel auto-renewal at any time from your Account Settings. When you cancel after a payment has been made, auto-renewal (auto-pay) will stop starting the next billing cycle (next month for monthly plans, or the next annual period for annual plans). The current billing period that you have already paid for is non-refundable — you will continue to have full access to the service until the end of that period, but no refund is issued for the current month (or current period). We do not provide refunds or credits for partially used billing periods.
A customer can cancel a subscription anytime during the 7-day trial period before they get charged. How Cancellation Works Before the trial ends: Customers can cancel their plan before the 7 days expire to prevent any automatic charges. Where to cancel: Customers can typically manage or cancel trials through the user's account settings in the app by clicking on Cancel Plan button. Stripe's role: Stripe itself does not cancel customer subscriptions directly; the merchant or business running the payment link must process the cancellation if a self-service portal isn't used.
